Light & Electricity _________________________________
Charged crystals known as “electric crystals” are put within a magnetic field generated by magic circles to create an equivalent of a modern day electromagnetic generator. This allows the flow of electric charges from the crystal to other mediums via magic circle. Essentially, if you want to direct electric charges to something, like a light crystal, for example, you invoke a magical circle upon the light crystal. Then the crystal will glow. If the day is over and lights need to be put out, then you revoke the magical circle. If you want to change how bright the light crystal glows, you can adjust the magic circle’s circumference! You transfer electric currents from the electric crystals to light crystals (ie, lightbulbs) , fire crystals (ie, ovens, stoves, heaters), ice crystals (ie, refrigerators), air crystals (ie, AC), and many other applications! For non-magic users, there are magic circle stickers, which automatically invoke magical circles when stuck onto an object and can revoke them when taken off.
There are other alternatives for creating light besides utilizing light crystals. If traveling at night, you can use Moonlight Flowers, which glow in moonlight. Other flowers will also glow naturally to produce light.
Transportation _____________________________________________________________
Safe travels within realms oftentimes will rely on methods like chariots, using creatures or animals fit for travel and if it is still within the same realm but a large distance, a train. When it comes to traveling from realm to realm, however, things get more interesting. As realms aren’t solely one physical tied existence, one has to employ other means of transportation--the most common and perhaps safer is ship travel. Not a ship meant to cross oceans but rather a ship meant to cross the skies. These intricate looking ships share many similarities between a ship that would sail a river or ocean, but instead, they soar the skies while being powered by magic and having a trustworthy crew on deck. Travel in these grand ships may generally take a day, but if the realms are far apart many of them can accommodate those who may need to spend more than a few hours or days on a ship.
Traveling for Mermaids is unique. Even those with tails have places to get and swimming back and forth might not always be the most endearing solution. That is why those fairy vials who have taken to the depths rely on Mermaid Springs as a form of transportation within their watery realm. Seeing as trains and chariots serve no purpose in the coves they instead use magical springs located all throughout the realm that allow them to teleport from one location to another. These special springs will only teleport the user if they have a Mermaid’s Coin with them and to know the location of the spring they wish to travel to. Without a coin in hand, the underwater spring will not work and to those who are not familiar with them, it will just look like any regular spring. Depending on who makes the Mermaid Coin it may be able to serve limited or multiple uses.

Communication methods can vary from realm to realm. Smaller realms that home tighter communities like small towns and cities might simply take to using letters to communicate as it wouldn’t take a long time to deliver. If the community is tight enough, one shouldn’t be surprised if those who are familiar with one another take to having pets or magical companions deliver their postage for them. Toriko are special birds that shift into letters and back upon being fed. They are generally used for messages sent over longer distances. Some Postal services, depending on the distance, might use magic instead to make sure a letter reaches a far off destination in an adequate amount of time. Those who’ve tired of letters have instead grown a fascination with rotary phones that are powered by magic. These phones have made communication between two Fairy Vials in different realms much more accessible in the case they cannot or do not wish to travel.
There are also special spells for communication, for example, Mirror call! You must look into a reflective surface and sing a series of notes in a certain pitch. The individual you're calling must answer your call by singing corresponding notes. When your call is answered, your reflection in the mirror will turn into the person you're calling! It is called “Mirror Call” because the most commonly-used medium are mirrors, but this can work in any kind of reflective surface! Example: Water, crystal surfaces, etc. The only condition is that the person you are calling is also around a reflective surface. The call will not go through otherwise.
Photography and Recording _____
Photography and Recording. Reflective Crystals are often sold as multi-faceted polygons which can store a certain number of photos or videos. They use light to create an image on each face of the polygon crystal, so each photo is stored on a different side. If you want to see the picture, you use a light crystal and shine it through the face of the polygon that has the picture you want to see.
