Sky Palace

Welcome

You slowly approach the entrance of the Sky Palace, taking in its impressive line of horned instruments in front of white marble walls with blue and gold accents. The Sky Ship lands, and as you depart, you feel yourself sink slightly into the clouds and then bounce up again. Walking up to the palace doors, you are met by two guards who ask you and the others who have also departed from the ship to present your letters of acceptance.

The guards are quick to scoop up the parchments. They scan the wording and then proceed to whisper a few words. Each letter transforms into a flying creature called a Toriko, a special bird species which can transform to and back from a letter once read. Upon a few more words whispered by the guards, the Toriko fly off into the distance, as if tasked with yet another delivery.

Suddenly, the Sky Palace doors open.

Walking through a circular passageway, you stare at the marble walls with engravings of nature spirits, ornamental tracery, and statues of renowned Fairy Vials including those lost in the Great War. You and the other students enter through an archway and find yourself in a ballroom filled with more Fairy Vials. Some make small talk while others quietly wait along the walls. A grand medallion rests in the center of this room, shaped as a wide circle comprising of smaller circles with images such as musical signs, flowers, and ancient runes. You hear someone mention that some of these circles sound when stepped on, while others light up. However, no one dares to touch the interactive floor in anticipation of what's to come. One student's eyes fixate in a specific direction, and soon everyone's gaze is transfixed in a singular direction. You turn in the same direction, facing the front of the room. There's a short platform with two glass podiums on either side filled with ocean life swimming carelessly among swaying anemone. The podiums meet a glass ceiling filled with blue waters. You discover mervials and water-based Fairy Vials swimming on the other side of the glass. Facing your gaze towards the front again, you note a large window behind the podiums with a clear view of clouds floating gently like sea foam on waves. However, there's an even more unusual sight in front of this window. A mervial with wings, whose vial is filled with a sky you've never seen before. Could this be the famed Starry Heaven filler? If so, it could only belong to one Fairy Vial, Stardust Mimosa.

The letter you received was signed in her name, but the surprised expressions in this ballroom hinted that no one truly expected to meet her in person. Stardust Mimosa was commonly referred to as the Goddess of Fairy Vials. She was the sole Fairy Vial who brought the communities together and formed the first realms nearly 600 years ago. With so many young Fairy Vials in the room, their shock was to be expected. Stardust Mimosa had become more of a legend as her previous duties were split among her soldiers hundreds of years ago. She had only arisen from the seas once during the Great War to protect the Juliette Kingdom, and even then, only a few were lucky to witness her giant tridents spearing dragons in the sky.

There are many descriptions in literature of her tenacity and beauty, but most strikingly, she carries with her a calming aura, floating between the two podiums as if she were underwater. Everyone listens for what's to come . . .

Welcome, dear guests. My name is Stardust Mimosa. I have invited you to be a student of the Sky Palace, an ancient fortress which was once home to the Fairymaker. As some of you might know, during the Great War, the Sky Palace fell victim to siege by Hunters. When we reclaimed the palace, we only found the dust of our fallen comrades and no trace of the Fairymaker. He had vanished and has not been seen or heard of for the past 10 years . . .

Potion Game

Optional!

The Headmaster concludes introductions and smiles, seeming to gaze at something behind you. You turn your head and find new wooden tables that weren't there previously, with silver utensils and tiered stands filled with afternoon cookies and small sweets. The desserts are paired with the famous, Floral Sencha Latte, a floral drink that consists of, loose green tea leaves, cherry blossoms, rose petals, honey, and condensed milk. Floating on top of the warm liquid are crushed dry cherry and rose petals. Several small vials filled with colorful liquid are scattered in the middle of the table.

The Headmaster requests you to enjoy these snacks and briefly mentions a game prepared by one of the Sky Palace professors you have yet to meet. There are various potion vials on the tables. Stardust Mimosa says the professor assured her that none are poisonous, however you hear her mumble something under her breath as she exits.

Rooming

Optional!

A voice heard from a floating speaking crystal announces that your rooms are prepared. Medallions on the floor light up, directing you all towards the student quarters. You slowly make your way through the hallways of the Sky Palace as bright sunlight cascades from the windows and reflects the blue waters of the ceiling. You discover that there are two floors of dorms. The top floor is referred to as the Luminelle dorms and the bottom floor contains the Nocturne dorms. The Luminelle dorms have a sliding ceiling with a passageway to the Sky Palace roof with an open roof view of the sky. Nocturne dorms have a sliding floor leading to the Florafae Gardens, rumored to have certain flowers that glow at night. You stop before a door and find your name written on the front. Opening the door, you are faced with a general sitting area with a desk for study with a small hallway which leads to the bedroom and bathroom. You find that some dorms can room two Fairy Vials while others only room a single Fairy Vial. The dorms also have connecting doors shared with your neighbors. They can be locked from both sides for privacy. Time to make yourself at home!

Task Options:

â–· Art: Draw 2-5 sets of clothes that your Fairy Vial wears! (colored sketches are fine!)

â–· Writing or RP: Find a roommate or knock on your neighbor's door and develop at least 5 dorming rules (ie, how late you both can stay out, if you want to split cleaning responsibilities, who gets what side of the room, etc). (min: 500 words per person for the RP. No word limit for the writing option)

â–· Writing: Write an "I am" poem for your Fairy Vial (no word limit)

Finished? Congratulations! Please comment the following in #task-approval to become an official Sky Palace student:

1. Complete and link the "Create your Fairytale" template. ViPOP will determine if the template follows lore before you can participate in the next event. Approval for spells and pets will be given at a later time, so don't worry about this section.

2. Add your Fairy Vial to the Toyhouse World and include the template in their Toyhouse profile. While a toyhouse is not required, it is strongly recommended. In #task-approval, write your Fairy Vial's name, your Toyhouse name, and your preferred dorm - Luminelle or Nocturne? Note your dorm and roommates in your Toyhouse/template!

3. If you completed any of the tasks above, include links (preferred) to writing/rp/art. Feel free to submit your finished art or writing to our Fairy Vial Deviantart Group Gallery!

Future events will have prizes, so don't worry about this one! In our next event, look forward to trying on your school uniforms, a class orientation, and a tour of the Sky Palace!

Or if you wanna learn how to mix a few drinks; non-alcoholic for you students tho! But enough about me, let's get to know where you'll be staying for now!
